Harding slips past Fitch; McDonald, Ridge win

WARREN G. HARDING 57, AUSTINTOWN FITCH 51: AUSTINTOWN — The Raiders went on the road and stayed in the All-American Conference Red Tier race. Harding (11-8, 7-2) remains a game behind Boardman (7-0) in the tier.

Dom McGhee scored 20 points and D’Muntieze Owens added 14 for Harding.

The Raiders led 15-7 after one quarter, 27-18 at halftime and 45-33 after three quarters.

Fitch (4-13, 3-5) was led by Kris Brown who scored 21 points and Todd Simons with 14.

LAKESIDE 73, HOWLAND 71: ASHTABULA — Howland fell to Lakeside on a buzzer-beating 3-pointer by Ethan Colbert.

Leading the Tigers was Frank Manios, who scored 20 points. Nathan Barrett scored 16, and Cam Durig added 11.

The Dragons were led by Brandon Ford’s 27 points. Courtez Vaughn scored 21, and Ethan Colbert contributed 11.

The Tigers (6-12, 2-7) have now lost five in a row, four of which were decided by three points or less.

POLAND 64, LAKEVIEW 58: POLAND — A big first half allowed Poland to hold off a late rally from Lakeview in a Northeast-8 Conference clash.

Poland (14-2, 10-0) led 33-19 at halftime and held on despite Lakeview outscoring them, 39-31, in the second half. Braeden O’Shaughnessy led all scorers with 26, and Daniel Kramer added 21.

A.J. McClellan led Lakeview with 15. Daniel Evans was close behind with 14, including four 3-pointers. Brandon Kilpatrick added 12.

McDONALD 86, WESTERN RESERVE 57: McDONALD — Zach Rasile drained nine 3-pointers as his McDonald Blue Devils (10-7, 8-5) toppled Western Reserve in Mahoning Valley Athletic Conference play.

Rasile scored a game-high 41 points. Jake Portolese scored 15 points, and Cam Tucker added 10.

Leading Western Reserve 4-14, 2-10) was Caleb Quinn with 17 points. Riley Miller added 11 and both Todd Henning and Noah Klasic put in 10.

MINERAL RIDGE 77, JACKSON-MILTON 58: NORTH JACKSON — Three Rams combined for 59 points as Mineral Ridge won the Mahoning Valley Athletic Conference game. Koby Zupko tallied 22 points, Jordan Zupko added 19 and Austin Governor scored 18 for Ridge (12-8, 7-6). Joe Rozzi contributed 10 points.

The Rams led 18-12 after one quarter, 37-30 at halftime and 59-43 after three quarters.

Mason Robison led Jackson-Milton (2-16, 0-13) with 21 points. Cole Grope scored 10, David Vega had nine and A.J. Bouch eight.

URSULINE 81, EAST 47: YOUNGSTOWN — Ursuline won big in their inner-city battle against Youngstown East.

Leading the Fighting Irish (10-9) was Travis Easterly with 21 points. Daysean Harris scored 17 points and Vince Armini added 10.

The Golden Bears (1-15) were led by Gabe Green, who scored 20 points. He was their lone scorer to reach double-figures.
