Brookfield, JFK’s Graham win at Cardinal Classic

BOARDMAN — The Brookfield Warriors boys golf team won this year’s Cardinal Mooney Cardinal Classic at Mill Creek Golf Course with a 292.

Massillon Perry finished second with 304, while John F. Kennedy was third with 320.

Justin Atkinson led with a 70, while Anthony Clarke (72), Connor Stevens (74) and Jon Hiner (76) followed.

John F. Kennedy’s Jimmy Graham, who won his second straight tournament, shot the low score of the day — a 3-under 67.

James Martuccio shot 79, while Gannon Fridley and Dominic O’Brien each shot 87 for the Eagles.

¯ BENEDICTINE 35, URSULINE 0: BEDFORD — Nicholas Demchuk was 12 of 24 for 319 yards and four touchdowns as the Bearcats provided an ariel assault on the Fighting Irish Saturday at Bearcat Stadium.

Chris Gales had three receptions for 120 yards and a 75-yard score for Benedictine, while Jovan Goodson had a 58-yard TD run and a 34-yard scoring reception. Goodson led the Bearcats with six carries for 113 yards.

Davion Jones paced Ursuline with 29 carries for 139 yards, while freshman quarterback Brady Shannon was 11 of 21 for 95 yards.
