Pro-life means more than anti-abortion
DEAR EDITOR:
I am tired of a political party that only seems to care about children before they’re born.
After birth, we can gun them down in classrooms, on playgrounds, in parks or even their own front yard. After each of these tragedies, it is always “too soon” to discuss gun control.
That is wrong. Gun control doesn’t mean you will have to give up your hunting rifles or handguns if you are a law-abiding citizen. It is not a violation of the Second Amendment. When that amendment was written, the arms that people were allowed to “keep and bear” were far different from what exists today.
We need to get the assault rifles off the streets and all weapons out of the hands of people with mental health issues.
When you are willing to sit down and have a serious conversation about that issue, then you can legitimately call yourself “pro-life.”
