Challenge to Warren and Avalon South

In the June 1 Tribune Chronicle, we read about progress being made at Old Avalon Golf Course.

Hurrah! It’s nice to see this valuable asset being put to better use by Scott Karabin.

Now here is a challenge. For a number of years, our golf group has traveled 36 miles to Grantwood Golf Course in Solon. The par-71 course is owned and operated by the city of Solon and is a Class A operation. We look forward to playing there every year. With six different tee boxes to challenge every level of golf skills, it is designed to fit every level of player.

If you visit it, you will be impressed. For starters, visit the website, solonohio.org. Scroll down to Parks and Recreation and then Grantwood Golf for all the details. Wouldn’t it be great to see the residents of northeast Ohio travel 36 miles to play at Old Avalon? It can be done.

If you think the city of Warren is up to the challenge, let Mayor Franklin know.
