Chauvin conviction based only on facts
DEAR EDITOR:
This is in response to the letters to the editor article titled “Chauvin convicted before his trial began.”
Facts are important. First of all, it wasn’t the George Floyd trial; it was the Derek Chauvin trial. We didn’t know how it would end. The prosecution presented its case with witnesses and evidence, which lasted for days. When the prosecution rested, the defense presented its case with witnesses and evidence. After closing arguments and jury instructions from the judge, the jury was sequestered for deliberation of a verdict.
From the evidence received, the jury reached a verdict of guilty on all three charges. Justice was served.
Remember facts are important.
