American Rescue Plan helps Americans
The past year has been hard on all Americans due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but thanks to the American Rescue Plan, help is on the way. We learned a lot last year, chief of which is to solve the COVID-19 problem, we need both innovation and cooperation between national, state and local governments.
The American Rescue Plan has broad bipartisan support among the majority of the people, and it is easy to see why. The new law provides 85 percent of Americans with direct payments, allocates $20 billion for vaccine distribution and extends unemployment and tax credits to working families, to name a few benefits.
We also are seeing the promise to administer 100 million vaccines to citizens and, thanks to the plan, it is assured that if you wish to be vaccinated, you will be able.
However, one obvious question remains: Why was the GOP so opposed to this broadly supported plan? Perhaps they were influenced by large donors or perhaps they were committed to obstruction. The truth is clear: The American Rescue Plan will help us recover, just as Democrats helped us recover from the 2008 financial crisis.
