Trump doesn’t know good guys from bad

As an Air Force pilot, I learned right away who were the bad guys and who were the good guys, who was working for us and who was against us. The bad guys were trying to kill us and bring our country down — the communist dictatorships of Russia, China, North Korea and North Vietnam. The good guys were trying to keep us alive — CIA, FBI, military intelligence and our allies in the western democracies — Britain, France, Germany, NATO, etc.

Because of that clear distinction, we always felt that the U.S. government had our backs. That may no longer be the case. Our current president cozies up to and expresses admiration for dictators; he insults and distances us from our longtime allies; he questions and rejects the work of our intelligence agencies; he claims to know more than the generals and berates those who have served.

If we are to be the land of the free and the home of the brave, we need a leader we can trust — someone who knows the good guys from the bad and chooses the good.
