Thank workers this Labor Day
Building Tradespeople have built our region of Ohio for the last century — and we’ll continue building throughout the next 100 years. This Labor Day, the Western Reserve Building and Construction Trades Council honors the essential workers who have carried Ohio through the pandemic.
When the COVID-19 hit, our skilled union tradespeople stayed on the job. We adapted quickly, in partnership with our contractor-employers, to keep tradespeople safe as they built and maintained our region’s critical infrastructure, including hospitals, electrical and other public utility systems. The union construction sector sets the standard on how Ohio’s workers, unions, and employers can partner to overcome the gravest challenges to protect workers and their communities during a public health crisis.
Our tradespeople built Trumbull, Mahoning and Columbiana counties, and our members work hard every day to make our corner of the state safer and stronger. We invest millions to provide tuition-free, paid training for construction apprentices. Our tradespeople volunteer hundreds of hours for charitable causes — this is the community-minded spirit that sets the union tradespeople apart.
This Labor Day, please join us in thanking our local workers and their unions for making our community stronger.
