Discussion on racism needed with Dems

DEAR EDITOR:

The Democrats cry racism every time they don’t get their way. They do not want to have a real conversation on racism.

Everyone knows what happened to George Floyd was out-and-out murder. Whites and blacks all feel this way. But to have people take over Seattle and let the governor and mayor negotiate with protesters is the Democrats’ way of blaming the Republicans if they try to settle the situation. It is OK by the Democrats to riot and burn businesses and to tell the police to stand down. But they will not protect the business owners who support the city with their taxes.

I would move the business and tell the mayor of that city where to go. I know they don’t want to fund the police department because a certain group wants to abolish the police, ICE or anyone who gets in their way of getting free stuff. If you don’t go along with them, they try to shame you into giving them money to keep you quiet.

Now Pelosi wants to get rid of Confederate portraits in the capital. If we are going to destroy all these statues and paintings, let’s get rid of all statues and paintings. I don’t agree with the Confederate statues, but it is a part of history. So let’s get rid of them all — the presidents, military, Dr. King and everything that belongs in our history books.

If we are going to have a conversation about racism, let’s have an honest one.
