Randy Smith grew payroll at engineer’s office

DEAR EDITOR:

Randy Smith deserves something, but not a pat on the back. During his time as Trumbull County engineer, around 45 employees have left. That’s not teamwork. Former county Engineer David DeChristofaro came to the bargaining unit employees and asked if we would freeze the contract in 2010 and said he would get us the salt dome we needed. We agreed. That was teamwork.

When Smith took office, he said he would keep staffing low. Since then he has hired Jack Simon, Steve Papalas as administrative assistant and Steve Gerberry as assistant to the administrative assistant. He just adds more political hires to his long list.

His concern is not the good citizens of Trumbull County.
