Democrats’ philosophy is to take and spend

DEAR EDITOR:

This is in response to the letter titled “Thank a Democrat for things we enjoy.”

We can thank both parties for laws that protect Americans. We as people pay into Medicare and Social Security and pay for those on Medicaid as taxpayers to insure the poor of our country. But in 1964, the welfare program, put into place by Lyndon Johnson to uplift people for 6 months to a year until they were expected to get a job, is not what is in place now. Since 1964, it has cost American taxpayers $22 trillion. This is outrageous and needs an overhaul.

Regarding Obamacare, people did not realize that a person getting health insurance for $75 per month sounded good, but actually would cost $375. How did Obama do this? By diverting billions of dollars from Medicare alone to fund $1.9 trillion for his program. He also took $716 billion from Medicare alone to fund $1.9 trillion for his program. He also took money by putting another IOU in the drawer from Social Security, and by not getting a raise in our Social Security checks.

That is the Democratic Party. Take, take, spend, spend.
