Do homework before voting in November

DEAR EDITOR:

If the shoe fits, wear it. Not everyone can walk natural in any old shoe. I should hope many Americans are starting to realize that.

Yes, it may look easy, but remember, that is your point of view.

If you wear a matador’s hat, cape and flat-bottom shoes, does that qualify you to step into the ring to fight the bull? Or if you slipped on Picasso’s shoes, can you paint like the artist?

Wearing certain shoes, such as those of governmental leadership, requires many years of education with experience in the field, along with the natural ability to excel.

You may look the part, but looks may be deceiving.

We see people in the government and feel they are not doing anything. They seem to be career politicians wearing loafers.

We might think we can fill them and do better, not realizing it is like stepping into the ring to fight the bull. It takes training and desire. It is paying your dues to fill those shoes, to walk effortlessly in them, which may look easy to the rest of us.

Before November, we should do our research to make sure the candidates that are running for office are qualified to wear those elected shoes in our government. Do not take your friend’s word for it; do your own research from many resources. Just voting and not knowing much about the candidate can lead to just the opposite of what you were hoping for.
