Get out and enjoy annual Trumbull fair
One sure sign of the height of summer is the annual Trumbull County Fair — and it has finally arrived.
The 173rd annual fair is underway in Bazetta, showcasing hundreds of local junior fair 4-H projects and adult exhibits and displays as well.
There are new entertaining activities, the usual assortment of odd spectacles and, of course, old classics to please everyone, going on now through Sunday.
More than 500 4-H member projects will exhibit the hard work of local youth that has been in the works all year leading up to this big event.
Certainly, for those 4-Hers who have spent so many months raising livestock and practicing their skills, this week is more than just a fair — it’s a lifestyle and a showcase of something they all should be proud of.
Each year local 4-Hers exhibit with pride the work they have done all year preparing their livestock and projects for judging and public inspection. The effort they put forward should renew all our faith in today’s youth. For anyone with doubts about our future leaders, there isn’t a better opportunity to be enlightened than to visit this week’s Trumbull County Fair.
And in addition to checking out the livestock and other homemade and home-grown exhibits, families have the opportunity to spend time together sampling the variety of fun and fattening foods, games, concessions and exciting entertainment.
The weather is hot, but not too hot to make the short trip to the Bazetta fairgrounds.
The Trumbull County Fair runs through Sunday.
