Celebrate our city with third Homecoming

Hooray for the planners and organizers of the third annual Warren Homecoming going on in our city this weekend!

And hooray for the visitors and for the people that never stopped calling Warren home!

The Warren Homecoming event has been successful for the past two years in celebrating all the wonderful things the Warren area has to offer and in bringing native residents and visitors back home to be reconnected. We expect this year will be no different.

Each year, thousands of people have poured into Warren to celebrate Homecoming weekend and their enduring connection to our great city. The event is an opportunity to rekindle old friendships and help to foster new ones. That all begins tonight atop the Franklin Street SW parking deck.

Saturday includes the annual Pink Ribbon Run / Walk for Cancer Awareness followed by a Warren Homecoming Parade. A big crowd favorite also happens in downtown that afternoon — the annual Taste of Warren event on Courthouse Square, featuring 14 food vendors, including some of the city’s best known. No one should miss out on that! After all, isn’t Warren and Trumbull County known for fabulous pizza and chicken?

The weekend also includes the annual Warren Football Legends dinner and golf outing, high school football games and a car show Sunday at Warren G. Harding High School, and more.

There is so much more going on at this gigantic weekend-long city-wide party, all in the name of creating enthusiasm and excitement about our city.

Just like the last two years, this event has created a buzz. It will return people to their roots and ultimately, it just might help encourage repopulation of the city that has so much to offer.

Sometimes we take for granted the beauty, neighbors and culture here. Take a moment and look at Warren through the eyes of a visitor excited to be here.

If you haven’t been to the city lately, this is a great time to come.

Welcome to Warren!
