Clarence Eshelman 1924-2025

WARREN — Clarence Eshelman, 100, passed away Sunday, Nov. 9, 2025, at his home.

He was born Dec. 21, 1924, in Warren, the son of Alvin and Julia Heck Eshelman.

Clarence retired as a millwright at Rockwell International Corp. after over 29 years. He was a veteran of the United States Army, serving during World War II in the 91st Infantry Division. Clarence loved serving the Lord. He would collect scrap metals to sell and use the money to buy Bibles for third-world countries. He also gave to many different world missions and outreaches.

Clarence was a member of New Hope Free Methodist Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and baking. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and always made sure no one was hungry.

He is survived by his children, Rosemary Parks, Arlene Hamilton and Alvin (Brenda) Eshelman; stepson, William Lyons; stepdaughters, Susie Williams, Karen (Jimmie) Lorentz, Kathy (Jerry) Nahm and Virginia (Raymond) Smithberger; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Emzie Ann Pulliam Eshelman; daughter, Lynette Eshelman; son, Robert “Bobby” Eshelman; siblings, Jasper Eshelman, Thelma June Eshelman and Shirley Alvin Eshelman; two grandsons; one great-grandchild; and one great-great-grandchild.

A graveside service will be held at a later date.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Carl W. Hall Funeral Home.
