Beulah M. Davis 1944-2025
CORTLAND — Beulah May Davis, 80, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday, Aug. 9, 2025, after fighting the good fight of faith.
Beulah was born Aug. 28, 1944, in Webster Springs, W.Va., a daughter of the late William B. Jack and Edna L. Miller.
Beulah married Richard Davis on June 26, 1976; they were together until his death on Feb. 23, 2005.
Beulah especially loved being a homemaker and taking care of her family. She enjoyed cooking, baking, traveling, fishing, attending gospel concerts, going to church and worshipping the Lord every chance she could, and spending time with her family, whom she loved dearly. She always made herself available at any time of the day or night to pray for anyone who needed prayer. She was one of a kind!
Beulah attended Champion Church of God for the past 10 years and, before that, was a member of First Assembly of God in Warren, Pa.
Remaining to cherish Beulah’s memories are her children, William H. and Debbie Mattson of Frewsburg, New York, Betty Hicks and Troy Tobias of Sinclairville, New York, Thomas and Aimee Mattson of Jamestown, New York, Lisa and Jason Horrocks of Cortland, and Emmy and Dallas Horrocks, also of Cortland; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Preceding Beulah in death were her husband, Richard Davis; son, Timothy Mattson; and parents, William B. and Edna Miller.
Visitation will be held at noon, with a funeral service at 1 p.m., Friday, Aug. 15, 2025, at Freay Funeral Home, 139 S. Erie St., Mayville, NY 14757, where the Rev. Dennie Land will officiate. Burial will be in the Sherman Cemetery.
Memorials can be made to Champion Church of God, 557 Center St. E, Warren, OH 44481.
