Wilma Ritchie 1927-2025

LEAVITTSBURG — Wilma “Jean” Ritchie, 98, passed away peacefully Tuesday, May 20, 2025, at her home in Leavittsburg.

She was born March 10, 1927, a daughter of the late John and Dorothy Lippert Walter of Salem.

She was a graduate of Lordstown High School.

Jean was a kind person who always saw the best in everyone. Throughout her life, she took care of many family members and was always there if they needed help. She considered herself “richly blessed” and never complained. She enjoyed doing crossword puzzles in ink, reading the daily newspaper and keeping up with current events. Jean made a warm home that always had an open door and was a favorite place for family and friends to gather. All were greeted with delicious meals that she could make on the spot out of whatever was on hand.

Jean is survived by her son, Rick L. (Christine Ruggieri) Ritchie of Warren, and sister, Shirley (Robert) Dellinger of Niles.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Carmen Ritchie; and brothers, John (Elsie) Walter and Jerry (Leona) Walter.

A committal service will be held at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 28, 2025, in Pine Knoll Cemetery Chapel, where Pastor Jim Dittmar will officiate.

Friends may call from noon until service time Wednesday at the cemetery chapel.

Carl W. Hall Funeral Home is honored to assist with these arrangements.

The family would like to extend special thanks and heartfelt gratitude to Elayne, Teresa, Shanita and Cayse, who provided compassionate care and support. Also, the family asks that donations be made to the volunteers and EMT of the Warren Township Fire Department.
