Ralph Crowley 1934-2025

He was born Aug. 30, 1934, to Floyd and Estelle Crowley in Bonnie Blue, Virginia. He graduated from Niles McKinley High School in 1954.

He worked at Republic Steel for 38 years and then at the Niles Parks Department for 7 years. He was a member of Niles First Christian Church.

He married the love of his life, Margaret Hosterman, on Feb. 2, 1956. They were together for 64 years.

Ralph’s greatest joy was spending time with his family and making bird houses for his family and friends. He felt it was very important to feed and provide shelter for those in need and enjoyed watching the birds build their nests in his bird houses. He would always take pride in telling us how many new tenants he had in his bird houses.

Ralph was a very gentle and generous person, always displaying his generosity in ways that nobody would know. He left many great memories and life lessons for those who knew him.

He is survived by three children, Cynthia (Nick) Giancola, Lorene (Denis) Preston and Jeffrey (Maria) Crowley. He is also survived by six grandchildren, Nicholas Giancola (Paul Hagman),

Erica (Geoff) Lewis, Stephen (Megan) Preston, Michael Preston, J.J. (Krista) Crowley, Shawn Crowley and his girlfriend, Liz Bundy. Ralph also had 6 great grandchildren, Kennedy Wood,

Ian Lewis, Easton Lewis, Kaden Preston, Niko Preston and Mila Crowley.

Ralph was preceded in death by his wife, who died on March 10, 2020; his parents; a brother, Egbert, and a sister, JoAnn, who both died in infancy.

Services were private per his wishes. Cremation has taken place.
