Elizabeth A. Esposito 1942-2025
WARREN — Elizabeth Ann “Betsy” Esposito, 82, passed away Friday, May 23, 2025, at Continuing Healthcare Solutions in Niles.
Betsy was born Sept. 12, 1942, in Youngstown, the daughter of Paul and Marjorie Maholtz.
Betsy graduated from Ursuline High School in Youngstown in 1960 and from Youngstown State University with an education degree in 1964. Betsy began her teaching career at St. Rose in Girard before teaching in Warren City Schools for a brief period. She then taught at Catholic grade schools in the Warren area for more than 30 years. Throughout her teaching career, Betsy also completed several post-graduate courses at YSU.
Betsy’s Catholic faith was an important part of her life. She was active in many volunteer roles at Sts. Cyril & Methodius Parish in Warren for many years. Betsy also took communion to area nursing home residents and served as a board member for Warren Parochial Schools. Throughout her life, Betsy supported her family and friends and those in need, including students and families at the schools where she taught. She will be greatly missed.
Betsy was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Guy; her twin brother, John; her brother, Paul; and her sister, Mary Ellen “Mimi.”
She is survived by her children, Frank (Regina) Esposito of Wickliffe, Marjorie “Marney” (Mark Lapmarado) Esposito of Warren and Guy Esposito of Warren; granddaughters, Claire (Anton) and Hailey; grandson, Dane (Sky); great-granddaughter, Nyomi Lee; her brothers, Charles (Monica) and Mike (Elaine); sisters-in-law, Nancy and Sylvia; and Hailey’s mother, Chris.
Family and friends may visit and pay tribute to Betsy 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Thursday, May 29, 2025, at St. Teresa of Calcutta Parish-St. James Church Site, 2532 Burton St. SE, Warren, OH 44484.
Mass will be held for Betsy 9:30 a.m. Thursday at the church, with the Rev. Christopher Cicero presiding.
Donations can be made in Betsy’s name to Catholic Charities Regional Agency, 185 Laird Ave., Warren, OH 44483.
