Charles E. Neverovich 1931-2025

LAS VEGAS — Sgt. Maj. Charles E. Neverovich, Ret., a devoted U.S. Army veteran and beloved family patriarch, husband, father, grandfather and patriot, passed away peacefully, Wednesday, May 7, 2025, at the age of 93.

Born in 1931, to John and Nellie Neverovich, Charles lived a life marked by service, strength and integrity. He enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1949 and served with distinction in Korea with the 24th Infantry Division from 1950 to 1951. Following a brief civilian period, he re-enlisted in 1961 and proudly served until his retirement in 1986. Over 28 years of service, he completed assignments in Korea, Okinawa and Germany. Charles was a lifetime member of several veterans organizations, including the Disabled American Veterans (DAV), Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW), the 24th Infantry Division Association and the Korean War Veterans Association. He was also a proud 40-year member of the Blue Star Masonic Lodge in El Paso, Texas.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Wilma H. Neverovich; his brothers, Donald (Miyoko) and Kenneth Neverovich; and his granddaughter, Carrie.

Charles is survived by his children, Raymond Neverovich (Jill), Ken Hunt (Kat), Wayne Hunt and Sandra L. Rouse (Craig). He is also lovingly remembered by his grandchildren, Christopher (Michelle), Billy (Brittney) and Jessie (Patrick); and his great-grandchildren, Caleb, Chiron, Kelvin, Avery and Violet.

Charles leaves behind a legacy of unwavering patriotism, selfless service and enduring love for family. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who had the honor to know him.
