Joan L. Kumher 1932-2205

Born March 18, 1932, in Kinsman, she was the daughter of the late Eugene G. and Louise G. Mizner Wall, and graduated from the former Gustavus High School.

On Oct. 11, 1950, she married her beloved husband, John Kumher. At the time of his passing in 2006, they had been married for 56 years.

Mrs. Kumher was employed by Cortland Elementary School and then Lakeview High School, where she was a cook for 28 years. Her hobbies included reading, and visiting her grandchildren and family.

Left to cherish her memory are her three children, Larry A. (Pam) Kumher, Stephen E. Kumher and Arlene S. (Keith) Norris; eight grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and her brother, Ronald Wall.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Kumher; two sons, James and Jeffrey Kumher; granddaughter, Heather Norris; and sister, Doris Gross.

Calling hours will be 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, March 16, 2025, at Baumgardner Funeral Home, 8569 Main St., Kinsman, OH 44428.

There will be no formal services.

Burial of cremated remains will take place at a later date at the convenience of the family in Kinsman Cemetery.
