Robert K. Bloom 1943-2024
CHAMPION — Robert K. Bloom, 80, passed away Tuesday morning, Nov. 26, 2024, at his home, surrounded by his family.
Bob was born Nov. 27, 1943, in Warren, a son of the late Robert and June Bloom.
He was a 1961 graduate of Champion High School and a proud veteran of the United States Air Force. He worked at and served as the vice president of Dray Company in downtown Warren. He served as the first police chief of Braceville Township. He also founded JMT Trucking with his wife, Julia. Robert had a lifelong love of model trains and drag racing; he raced since his teens and held multiple world records.
Bob will be deeply missed by his loving wife, Julia Bloom, whom he married May 17, 1986; children, Katherine (Ryan) Blankemeyer, Christina Bloom and her fiance, Brady Sampson, and Robert D. (Donna) Bloom; grandchildren, Grant Blankemeyer, Levi (Rosa) Bloom, Hope Bloom and Alyssa Bloom; two great-grandchildren; brother, Martin (Denise) Bloom; and sister, Marianne (Carl) Britt.
Friends and family may visit 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 1, 2024, at Lane Family Funeral Homes, Roberts-Clark Chapel, 180 Garfield Drive NE in Warren.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 2, 2024, at the funeral home.
Burial will take place in West Street Cemetery, Hartford Township.
