Raymond H. Parry 1932-2022

CORTLAND — Raymond H. Parry, 89, of Cortland, passed away Thursday, Jan. 6, 2022, at his home.

He was born Oct. 23, 1932, in Youngstown, the son of the late Thomas L. and Mildred Lewis Parry.

Raymond owned and operated Parry Plumbing and was a member of Plumbers Union Local 225 and Local 396. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War with the 101st Airborne Division. He was a member of the Warren Seventh Day Adventist Church.

On June 5, 1955, he married the former Janelle Beach. She preceded him in death Dec. 17, 2019.

Raymond loved his family, his Bernedoodle “Baby,” and Walt Disney World. They vacationed in Walt Disney World twice a year for as long as we can remember.

He is survived by his sons, Jeff (Terry) Parry of Champion and Clint (Liset) Parry of Crystal River, Fla.; daughter, Lisa (Ed) Medved of Twinsburg; sisters, Gloria Winfield of Cortland and Sandra (Raleigh) Burt of Escondido, Calif.; grandchildren, Zachary Parry, Jared (Meagan) Medved, Nicole (Jim) Csernik, Jenna (Jack) Ridge, Alexa (John) Anthony, Cole Medved and Justin Parry; great-grandchildren, Jacob, Anna, Alexander, Ava and Ana; and special family friend, Courtney Morris, who he loved as his own daughter.

We would like to thank his longtime caregivers Dottie and Brenda and Southern Care Hospice for their wonderful care.

Per his wishes, due to COVID-19, no services will be held. Cremation has taken place.

The family requests that material contributions be made to the Animal Welfare League, 812 Youngstown Kingsville Road, Vienna, Ohio 44473, in his memory.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Carl W. Hall Funeral Home.
