Bernard Wells 1953-2021

CHAMPION — Bishop Bernard Wells, 68, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 17, 2021, at St. Joseph Warren Hospital.

He was born Sept. 18, 1953, in Cleveland, to Benjamin and Annie Mae Mingo Wells.

He was the pastor of Faith Temple Worship Center in Windsor. He enjoyed singing gospel music. He was a recording artist with the group Christian All-Stars of Akron, traveling, singing and preaching the word of God. He enjoyed fine food, traveling and was a great sports fan.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife, Lillie, the first lady of the church; his children, Bernard Wells Jr. of Cleveland, Dwight D. Johnson (Tivonia) of Canton, Rodney Johnson (Crystal), also of Canton, Marlon Wells of Cleveland, Martez Wells, also of Cleveland, Juanita N. Carr (Thomas) of Mansfield and Angela D. Pearson of Youngstown; his siblings, Benjamin Wells Jr. of Columbus, Arthur James Wells (Judy) of Cleveland, Ernest L. Wells of Houston, Texas, Reginald Wells (Beverly) of Niles and Arcella Ingram (Richard) of Warren; 17 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and his siblings, Andrew L. Wells and Eddie J. Wells.

A funeral service will be 10 a.m. today, Saturday, Nov. 27, 2021, at Greater Apostolic Church, 3571 Tod Ave. NW, Warren, where friends may call one hour prior the time of the service.

Interment will be in Brownwood Cemetery, 2063 Kinsman Road NW, North Bloomfield.
