Ronald W. Campbell 1942-2021

BURGHILL — Ronald W. Campbell, 79, passed away unexpectedly Friday, Oct.15, 2021, at OSU Medical Center following a heart attack.

Ron was born Aug. 20, 1942, in Youngstown. He was an only child, the son of Robert and Marion Campbell.

Ron was a graduate of Liberty High School, class of 1960. After graduation, he proudly served in the Army until honorably discharged. Ron then married and worked for GM, Youngstown Sheet & Tube and finally, retired from Portage Transformer. In his spare time, Ron was a volunteer firefighter, Little League baseball coach, a longtime Blaney Racing fan and an avid OSU football and Cleveland Indians fan.

Ronald leaves behind three children: daughters, Kim Mosora (Jeff), Cheryl Slater (Seth) and son, Ronald Campbell (Laurie); three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; as well as a special friend, Michelle Beatty.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

In keeping with Ron’s wishes, he requested to be and was cremated. The family will hold a private service, in his honor, at a later date.

Ron will be deeply missed by his loving family and friends.
