Beverly A. Schofield Brown 1973-2021

NEWTON FALLS — Beverly Ann Schofield Brown, 48, of Newton Falls, passed away Thursday, Oct. 14, 2021, after a long and courageous battle with breast cancer.

She fought cancer with fierce determination, the same way she lived her life, with uncomplaining strength and courage combined with joy and laughter and love of family. Throughout 350 doctor appointments, countless rounds of chemotherapy and radiation, multiple surgeries and unrelenting bad news, she never once complained. Her husband, Scott, was by her side on all her doctor visits. Bev’s greatest joy was being a mother to Joe, 28, and Evan, 5. Over the course of her illness, she read Evan 4,000 books, continued to organize trips and family parties and made sure Joe was prepared for life without her.

Bev was born Sept. 11, 1973, in Warren, to Mary Cole Campbell and Frank Schofield; the second daughter in a family that would grow to include four more brothers. Beverly and her sister, Tami, shared a lifelong love of country music and travel. They often traveled with their mother, Mary, to see their favorite country stars, Reba McEntire and Barbara Mandrell. Even as a young girl, Bev had a special affection for children and made her younger brothers and later her sons and nephews, feel special and loved.

Bev is survived by her husband, Scott Brown; and sons, Joseph Muscardelli Jr. and Evan Brown; her father, Frank Schofield; stepfather, Rick Hartley; sister, Tami Newberry; brothers, Rodney Schofield, Kevin Schofield, Justin Hartley (Krystal) and Chris Hartley (Kelly); her parents-in-law, Ron and Margie Brown; and brothers-in-law, Eric Brown (Nicole) and Kevin Brown (Robi). She is also survived by many nieces and nephews, Trevor, Mikey, Nathan and Alexa Newberry, Kenneth and Frederick Harley, Nicholas, Justyn, Derek, Andrew, Ty, Jake and Karlie Brown. She also leaves behind countless cousins, aunts and uncles, as well as dear friends Beverly loved as family.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Cole Campbell; and by former fiance, Joseph Muscardelli Sr., who died in 1992.

Bev’s family wishes to thank Dr. El Amil and the rest of the staff at the Mercy Cancer Center, for all the care and love they showed to Bev and her family throughout Bev’s fight with cancer. Those who wish to make a donation to a breast cancer support organization, send donations, in Bev’s name, to the Joanie Abdu Comprehensive Breast Cancer Center in Youngstown.
