Robert L. Hart 1935-2021

GREENVILLE, Ohio — Robert “Bob” L. Hart, 85, passed away at his home, Monday, April 12, 2021.

Bob was born Oct. 22, 1935, in Warren, to Robert L. and Glayde Elvira Bane Hart. He graduated from Howland High School in 1954.

Bob was a proud Navy veteran, serving from 1956-60. He began his long career with the Warren Telephone Company and retired from Sprint. He traveled and spoke to many clubs and organizations as an active member of the phone company’s speakers bureau. Bob was an active member of the Greenville Rotary and enthusiastically supported the March of Dimes, Special Olympics, and the Boys and Girls Club. During his time with Rotary, he was named a Paul Harris Fellow for his many contributions to the organization. Bob was also a member of the Elks and American Legion.

In his free time, he enjoyed golfing, camping, gardening and watching the Cleveland Browns and Indians. The family storyteller, he spun hilarious tales to the delight of his children. More than anything he treasured time with family and was extremely proud of his children and grandchildren. He will truly be missed.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Judith Yuricek and Sandra Miller; and brother-in-law, Raymond Miller.

Bob is survived by his wife of 60 years, Darlene O’Connor Hart; children, Brian and Kathleen Hart of Columbus, Jennifer and Michael Stapleton of Fairfield, and Christopher Hart of Greenville; grandchildren, Danielle Hart, Evan Hart and Anna Stapleton; brother-in-law, John Yuricek; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Per Robert’s request, there will be no services.
