Merlyn L. Triplett 1926-2021

LANCASTER, Pa. — Merlyn “Toody” Triplett, 94, of Lancaster, Ohio, passed away Monday afternoon, April 5, 2021, at Mount Carmel East in Columbus.

She was born Oct. 7, 1926, in Newton Falls, the daughter of George N. and Lena Lucille Treash Smith.

She retired from GE Lamp Plant in Warren, where she worked assembly.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph P. Triplett, to whom she was married for 63 years.

She was a local Republican Party volunteer and served as a poll worker. She enjoyed collecting books and antiques and spending time with her grandchildren and her dogs.

Toody is survived by a daughter, Catherine (Dan) Holley of Pleasantville, Ohio; two sons, Randy Triplett of Charlotte, N.C. and Hossein (Sima) Tabatabaie of Virginia; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, one of whom, Ron Smith, was of Hartford; and close friends, Sharon and Wayne Farnsworth.

Friends and relatives may call from 1 to 2 p.m. Friday, April 9, 2021, at the Galloway-Onstott Funeral Home, 3451 state Route 7, Hartford, Ohio.

The funeral will follow at 2 p.m. with Pastor Gary Meikle of the Hartford Community Church officiating.

Burial will be in Sager Cemetery in Bristolville.

Masks are required and social-distancing practices will be observed.
