Linda Nolan 1951-2021

CORTLAND — Linda Nolan, 69, of Cortland, passed away at 1:45 p.m. Friday, April 2, 2021, at University Hospital Portage Medical Center under the comforting care of hospice with her son and granddaughter by her side.

Linda was born Friday, Aug. 31, 1951, in Warren, the daughter of the late William Sr. and Jennie Smolinsky Iwanicki and was a lifelong area resident.

She was a 1969 graduate of John F. Kennedy High School and was a member of its class reunion committee.

For many years, Linda worked as a bank teller for First Federal (First Place Bank) in downtown Warren. After retiring, Linda worked part time for Beatitude House.

Linda enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and was never very far from her beloved Yorkie, Maggie-Mae. The Christmas holiday was her favorite time of the year, and she would go all out to make it special for her family. She also was a long-suffering Cleveland Browns fan.

Linda is survived by her son, Zachary J. (Nikki) Merana of Liberty Township; two grandchildren, Bailey and Alexander Merana; her nephews, Todd (Susan) Iwanicki and Jeff Iwanicki; sister-in-law, Sharon Azecuski; and brothers-in-law, David (Barb) Nolan and Art Nolan.

Besides her parents, Linda was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd Nolan, on Jan. 31, 2020; a son, Ryan Merana, on Oct. 28, 2014; and a brother, William Iwanicki Jr.

A caring cremation will take place.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions take the form of donations, in Linda’s name, to Hospice of Western Reserve, 17876 St. Clair Ave., Cleveland, OH 44110.
