Frances G. Cetina 1940-2021

WARREN — Frances G. Cetina, 81, of Warren, entered peacefully into eternal life Friday, April 9, 2021, at 2:55 a.m. at Windsor House at Champion, with her loving family by her side.

Fran was born Sunday, March 10, 1940, in Warren, the daughter of the late Joseph and Agnes M. Harcarik Kazimer and was a lifelong area resident.

A 1957 graduate of Warren G. Harding High School, she furthered her education by graduating from Trumbull Memorial Hospital School of Nursing in 1960. She retired as an RN from St. Joseph Warren Hospital.

On April 8, 1961, Fran married Joseph “Sonny” Cetina Jr. and they were married for almost 50 memorable years until his passing on Jan. 16, 2010. To this union, four children were born — Michael, James, Connie and Christine.

Frances enjoyed their growing years and was involved in their school activities, sporting activities, scouting and later in life all her grandchildren’s endeavors.

She was a member of the former St. Pius X Catholic Church, Warren, where she was a member of its Altar & Rosary Society and helped with its church festival. After its closing, Fran went back to the church in which she was raised and joined St. Elizabeth Ann Seton-SS. Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church, also in Warren.

Fran enjoyed traveling, camping and touring almost all of the United States (except Maine and Washington). She loved cruising the Caribbean, camping with friends, playing cards and bingo at Warren SCOPE and going to the casino. The holidays were special to her and she immensely enjoyed spending them with all her family near and far.

She will forever be missed by her four children, Michael (Connie) Cetina of Warren, James (Patricia) Cetina of Mineral Ridge, Constance “Connie” (John) Cvengros of Champion and Christine (Chris) Irwin of Lordstown; her grandchildren, Brian (Samantha) Cetina, Patrick Cetina, Tyler Cetina, Ethan (Katelyn) Cetina, Hannah Cetina, Jennifer (Nick) Stoian, Joseph (Katie) Cvengros, Gregory Irwin and Jessica Irwin; and by two great-grandchildren, Mason and Emelia; and her beloved dog, Bentley.

She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews; and extended family.

Besides her parents and husband, Frances was preceded in death by her only sister, Joan (Ronald) Gilronan.

Family will receive friends Tuesday, April 13, 2021, from 5 to 7 p.m., at the Staton-Borowski Funeral Home.

A funeral Mass, with the Rev. Fr. Christopher Cicero officiating, will be offered Wednesday, April 14, 2021, at 10 a.m., at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish-SS. Cyril & Methodius site, 185 Laird Ave. NE, Warren, OH 44483. The funeral will be preceded by closing prayers to be recited at 9:20 a.m. Wednesday, at the funeral home, prior to leaving for the church.

Burial will conclude services in All Souls Cemetery, Bazetta.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions take the form of donations, in Fran’s name, to the Heritage Fund of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish, 2532 Burton St. SE, Warren, OH 44484.
