NEWTON FALLS — Robert A. Parkhurst, 54, of Newton Falls, passed away unexpectedly Monday, Jan. 25, 2021, at 10:53 a.m., in his home, as a result of injuries sustained from a fall in his basement.

Rob was born Thursday, June 23, 1966, in Warren, the son of Don Parkhurst and Charlotte Crew Finney and was a lifelong area resident.

Rob graduated in 1984 from Lakeview High School and Trumbull County Career and Technical Center with a degree in graphic printing.

He started his career in printing as a pressman at Nestle’s Print Graphics in Solon. He was promoted to plant supervisor in 1986 and remained in management until he retired from the printing industry in 2012.

Rob had a saw sharpening business which he inherited from his late grandfather, Frank Crew, who owned Crew Sharpening in Howland Township.

Rob was truly the jack-of-all-trades. He was a certified home inspector and a licensed health and life insurance agent. He was an accomplished carpenter and was often called upon from family, friends and people in the community to work on various home improvement projects.

From 2019 and up to the time of his passing, he and his son, Robert Jr., jointly owned Powerhouse Mowing and Landscape.

A true outdoorsman, Rob loved hunting, fishing and camping. He also loved collecting guns and target shooting, a skill and hobby passed on to him from his dad, Don Parkhurst.

His faith in Christ never wavered. He and Patty had attended services at Warren First Assembly of God, in Warren.

He will be sadly missed by all of those who loved and cherished him, especially Patty, the love of his life.

He is survived by his wife of 26 years, the former Patricia “Patty” Cline, whom he married on Dec. 10, 1994; his father, Don (Barbara) Parkhurst of Warren; his mother, Charlotte Crew (Will) Finney of Cortland; four children, Robert “Rob” A.
