Elizabeth Wells 1933-2021

She was born April 9, 1933, in Johnston, the daughter of Emil and Jeanette McCallum Jaster. She was a graduate of Johnston High School.

She married Robert “Buck” Wells Aug. 16, 1951; he preceded her in death Jan. 7, 1977.

She retired from the Joseph Badger Local School District, where she drove bus for 25 years.

She had attended the Cortland United Methodist Church.

Betty is survived by five sons, Gary “Chip” Wells (Pam Allen) of Mount Juliet, Tenn., Larry (Pam) Wells of Vernon, Doug (Pam) Wells of Flat Rock, N.C., Gail (Emily) Wells of Warren and Jeff Wells of Mills River, N.C.; 16 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Gordon Jaster and Dale Jaster, both of Johnston.

She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Dorothy and Freda.

Following social distancing and required wearing of masks, friends and relatives may call 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 24, 2021, at Galloway-Onstott Funeral Home, 3451 state Route 7, Hartford. The funeral service will follow at 1 p.m., with the Rev. MaryAnn Rufener officiating.

Burial will be in West View Cemetery, Vernon.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her name to the Cortland Fire Department, 194 Lattin St., Cortland, OH 44410.
