Rita G. Eippert 1936-2021
MINERAL RIDGE — Rita Gottfried Eippert, 84, of Mineral Ridge, passed away at home on Friday, Jan. 8, 2021, surrounded by her family.
Rita was born in Upper Sandusky on June 9, 1936. She was the youngest daughter of Edwin and Grace Newell Gottfried.
Rita graduated from Union High School in 1954, where she was a member of the concert band, pep band, the school yearbook and the newspaper. She was a member of Champion Grange and 4-H. She was also very active in sports and excelled in bowling. She belonged to John Stewart Methodist Church. Rita loved to sew, knit and quilt blankets for her friends and family.
She retired from Packard Electric and then enjoyed traveling, most especially to Florida for a few months each winter. She also loved traveling with Paul in their 1931 Model “A” Ford Roadster to many historical points across the country. She treasured the time she spent with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved and was deeply proud of each one.
Rita was preceded in death by both of her parents; her sister, Jeanann; and brothers, Craig, Paul, Larry and Ray.
She is survived by and will be sadly missed by her husband of 66 years, Paul L. Eippert of Mineral Ridge; her brother, Jim of Upper Sandusky; her sisters-in-law, Sally of Tampa, Fla., and Barb of Upper Sandusky; her two sons, Paul A. (Catherine) Eippert of Mineral Ridge and John Eippert of Austintown; her grandchildren, Paul A. Eippert II of Mineral Ridge, Amanda Basile (John Mela) of Austintown, Christopher (LaShyka) Eippert of Glendale, Ariz., and Daniel (Tara) Eippert of Austintown; and her great-grandchildren, Grace Basile, Rocco Basile, Jasen Eippert and Tegan Eippert.
There will be no services at this time. If any friends or family wish to make a donation, in Rita’s name, the family asks that they go to Hospice of the Valley.
