Joseph Hedrick 1934-2021
CORTLAND — Joseph “Jeff” Hedrick, 86, of Cortland, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, Jan. 9, 2021, at Hospice House in Poland.
Jeff was born May 12, 1934, the son of Raymond Hedrick and Anna Balluch Hedrick in Farrell, Pa.
After graduating from Farrell High School, Jeff was employed by the Trumbull County Water Department, retiring in 1995. Previously, he managed Laurel Lanes and Rainbow Lanes for 30 years.
Jeff married Eileen Kagle Hedrick on Sept. 21,1956. He was inducted into the Bowlers Hall of Fame in 1988. He was an avid Steelers fan and he loved animals and adopted many. He also loved to fish and go flea marketing. His greatest joy was his family and he was truly an angel on earth. Jeff would have done anything for anyone and was the most unselfish and non-judgmental person you would know. Anyone who met him loved him.
Left to cherish memories of him are his wife, Eileen; daughters, Rene (Kevin) Testa of Cortland, Rochelle (Mark) Hedrick of Southington and Rhonda (Darin) McAllister of Champion; and brothers, Charles of Coventry, R.I., and James of Sarasota, Fla. He also leaves a sister, Rosemary Harakal of Hermitage, Pa.; and five grandchildren, Travis (Tara) McAllister of Lordstown, Noel McAllister of Champion, Justin (Brianna) McAllister of Champion, Alicia (Ted) McAllister of Howland and Leah (Shawn) Testa of Warren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
Preceding Jeff in death are brother, Louis; sister, Annamarie; and a precious grandson, Mark.
Material contributions can be made in lieu of flowers to St. Jude’s Society.
Calling hours will be Thursday, Jan. 14, 2021, at noon with the funeral service at 1 p.m. at Crown Hill Burial Park Chapel Mausoleum.
