R. Scott Sindledecker, 1942-2020

WARREN — Richard Scott Sindledecker, 78, passed away Friday, Sept. 11, 2020, surrounded by his loving family.

Scott was born Jan. 4, 1942, in Warren, Ohio, the only son of Paul and Lillian Scott Sindledecker.

A lifelong resident of Warren, he was a graduate of Warren G. Harding High School. Scott was employed as a master mechanic by the Trumbull County highway department for 33 years.

Upon retirement, he began a 20-year career with Walmart in the maintenance department. Scott was happiest when outside, especially during the summer months, enjoying nature and his dog, Dusty. He and his sons spent many days on the golf course taking in a round of golf. A proud grandfather, he loved watching his grandchildren and great-grandchildren’s athletic events.

Scott is survived by his beloved wife of 38 years, Thelma Strong Sindledecker; his sons, Brian (Tina) Sindledecker, Jeff (Lisa) Sindledecker and Jeremy Strong; grandchildren, Christie Szepietowski, Jessica Henline, Alex Sindledecker, Brad Sindledecker and Jennifer Sindledecker; two great-granddaughters, Savannah and Evelyn; and his sister, Lee Ewing.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation for family and close friends will be held Friday, Sept. 18, 2020, from noon to 12:30 p.m., with a memorial service at 12:30 p.m., at Crown Hill Cemetery Chapel, 3966 Warren Sharon Road, Vienna, Ohio.

In keeping with the practice of social distancing, we ask that those attending please wear a mask.
