Emma F. Ferguson 1920-2020

WARREN — Emma Frances Ferguson went to be with her Savior on June 30, 2020.

She was born Oct. 10, 1920, in Englewood, N.J., a daughter of the late Leonard and Emma E. Harra Bingham. She graduated from Gaylord High School in Michigan in 1940.

After graduation she joined the United States Women’s Army Corps and served during World War II. It was there that she met Carl D. Ferguson, whom she married on March 9, 1946. They spent the next 54 years together, until his passing on Dec. 1, 2000.

Emma served alongside Carl, who was a pastor for various churches in Michigan, West Virginia and Ohio.

Emma was a member of Champion Baptist Church, and she enjoyed bowling, golfing, painting, knitting, quilting and various other crafts. She loved to crochet blankets for friends and family.

She was only 4 months shy of reaching 100 years old.

Left to cherish her memory is her daughter, Norma (Richard) Wires of Springfield, and her son, David (Cameron) Ferguson of LaCenter, Wash. She had five grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren who she loved dearly.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Ferguson; a brother, Charles Bingham; and a sister, Reatha Dubay.

A memorial service will be held at Champion Baptist Church at 11 a.m. Oct. 3, 2020. Pastor Thomas Christensen will officiate. She will be laid to rest at Pineview Memorial Park. Memorial contributions in Emma’s memory can be given to Champion Baptist Church.
