Elizabeth Choban 1929-2020

McDONALD — Elizabeth Choban, 91, previously of McDonald, passed away peacefully Friday, June 5, 2020, in her apartment at Danbury Senior Living, Columbus.

She was born May 5, 1929, the daughter of Joseph and Bertha Illeys Ferenczy.

She was a National Honor Society graduate of Girard High School. She worked at Mahoning Bank until her marriage to Steve Choban on May 7,1955. She then transitioned to being a full-time wife and mom. Wonderful memories of Betty live on with her husband of 65 years, Steve Choban; her two sons, Dr. Stephen Choban (Pat) of Powell, Ohio and Dr. Michael Choban (Nancy) of Westlake. She loved to be with her six grandchildren, Dr. Lisa Choban, Lauren Choban, Leah Choban, Lydia Choban, Capt. Joseph Choban (Tessa) and Christopher Choban. She was tickled to meet her three great-granddaughters, Lyanna, Rhaena and Alice Choban.

Preceding her in death are her parents; two sisters, Bertha and Irene Ferenczy; and four brothers, William, Steve, Eugene and Joseph Ferenczy.

Cremation is taking place at her request. Private services will be held at a later date.
