Linda E. Ferguson 1946-2020
MASURY — Linda E. Ferguson, 73, entered into eternal rest Saturday, March 21, 2020, while a patient in the emergency room at Sharon Regional Medical Center, following a sudden illness.
Linda was born at home in Sandy Lake, Pa., Aug. 11, 1946, a daughter of Donald J. and Jennie H. (Smith) Smith.
She was a 1964 graduate of Lakeview High School, Sandy Lake, and had worked 20-plus years as a training coordinator for the U.S. Office of Personnel Management, Boyers, Pa. Most recently, she worked as a secretary at Family Healthcare, Mercer, Pa.
In her spare time, she enjoyed being a believer in Christ, volunteering for church work, helping out in the food pantry and ringing the bell for the local Salvation Army red kettle drives. In addition, she loved traveling when she could, reading a good book, dancing with her husband and tending to her garden.
She is survived by her husband, James E. Ferguson, whom she married March 31, 2001; children, Mary J. (David) Scott-Herring of Whitehall, Md. and Bartholomew J. (Elizabeht) Scott of Miami, Fla.; beloved grandson, Bartholomew Herring; sister, Margaret “Peggy” (David) Martin of Coraopolis, Pa.; and her extended family.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bartholomew “Irish” J. Scott; and siblings, James, Elmer and Ronald Smith, Katherine Eckart, Shirley Rodermond and Eunice Irwin.
A Celebration of Life service to honor Linda will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, July 25, 2020 at Briceland Funeral Service, 379 State Route 7, SE, Brookfield, OH 44403.
As suggested by her family, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
