Joseph B. Ifft, 1932-2020

NILES — Joseph B. Ifft, 87, passed away at 10:22 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 12, 2020, at Trumbull Regional Medical Center in Warren.

He was born June 1, 1932, in Niles, the son of Joseph and Evelyn Ifft Skiffey.

Joe was a 1950 graduate of Niles McKinley High School and employed as a general lab foreman at RMI Titanium in Niles for 38 years, retiring in 1993. He was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish in Niles, enjoyed golfing, watching his grandchildren play baseball. He was a sports enthusiast and a U.S. Coast Guard veteran.

He will be deeply missed by his wife, Dolores “Toots” Dominic Ifft, whom he marred Jan. 7, 1955; three sons, Dan (Jill) Ifft of Dover, Joseph (Robin) Ifft of Niles and Gary (Michelle) Ifft of Niles; eight grandchildren, Amber (Zac) Bruney, Daniel (Kate) Ifft, Christian Ifft, Joseph R. Ifft, Alyson (Jared) Jones, Nicholas Ifft (fiancee Nikki Tomasiak), Aimee Ifft (fiance Evan Savage), and Gary Ifft (fiance Lindsey Shaffer); and eight great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a brother, William E. Ifft Sr.

The funeral service will be 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 17, 2020, at Joseph Rossi and Sons Funeral Home in Niles. Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Burial will be in Niles City Cemetery, where Joe will be honored for his military services.
