Helen L. Timko 1945-2019
MINERAL RIDGE — Helen L. “Chicki” Timko, 73, of Mineral Ridge, died Wednesday, July 3, 2019, at the Peterborough Regional Health Center, while summering on Deer Bay Lake, Ontario, Canada.
Chicki was born Oct. 13, 1945, in Youngstown, a daughter of the late Thomas and Mary Wick Mountford.
She graduated in 1963 from Cardinal Mooney High School and had been the office manager for Olsavsky Jaminet Architects for 30 years, retiring in 2002.
She was a member of St. Mary Church of Mineral Ridge. Chicki loved spending her summers at their home in Canada where she enjoyed fishing. She was a fan of the Ohio State Buckeyes, the Cleveland Browns and the Cleveland Indians, but most cherished by Chicki was the time she spent with her grandchildren.
She leaves her husband, John Timko, whom she married June 26, 1974; two daughters, Christine (William) Holland of Mineral Ridge and Jennifer Timko of Fredricksburg, Va.; one son, John Michael (Andrea) Timko of Austintown; two sisters, Mary Ann (Robert) Comstock of Boardman and Patricia (Timothy) Jenyk of Muncie, Ind.; one brother, George (Opal) Mountford of Holiday, Fla.; and her five grandchidren, Gregory and Emily Holland, and Natalie, John Joseph and Audrey Timko. Besides her parents, Chicki was preceded in death by a brother, Thomas Mountford.
Friends may call 10 a.m. until noon Friday at St. Mary Church, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at noon.
