Charles T. Cromley Sr. 1942-2019
NILES — Charles T. Cromley Sr., 76, of Niles and LaBelle, Fla., passed away at 3:21 p.m. Tuesday, July 16, 2019, at Mercy Health St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital surrounded by his loving family.
He was born Oct. 14, 1942, in Warren, the son of Ralph and Mary Thomas Cromley.
Chuck was a 1960 graduate of Warren G. Harding High School and was employed for 30 years at General Motors Lordstown, retiring in 1995.
He was a member of Harvest Christian Assembly in Warren, the Niles Jaycees, Army-Navy Garrison Post 106 Honor Guard, Boy Scout Troop 31 Scoutmaster in Niles, and LaBelle Woods Riders. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle, camping, fishing, boating, and was an avid Ohio State University and Cleveland Browns fan.
Chuck was a United States Army and Army National Guard veteran, having served as a military policeman.
Memories of Chuck will be carried on by his wife, Karen S. Wright Cromley, whom he married Oct.14, 1972; two sons, William Robert and his wife Sue of Warren and Charles “Tom” Jr. and his wife June of Piqua; a daughter, Gretchen J. and her fiancee, Amanda of Wentzville, Mo.; seven grandchildren, Samantha, Brent, Angelina and her fiance Christopher, Jessica, Elizabeth and her husband Jonathan, Victoria and her husband Brandon, and Cassie; two great-grandchildren, Jackson and Penelope; and his “Aunt Ruthie.”
He was preceded in death by his parents; his stepmother, Laurie; and a sister, Shirlee Thompson.
Friends may call 4 to 7 p.m. Friday and 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the Joseph Rossi and Sons Funeral Home in Niles. Chuck will be honored for his military service by The Trumbull County American Legion Honor Guard at 11 a.m. Saturday, followed by funeral services officiated by Pastor Ron Biehl, all at the Joseph Rossi and Sons Funeral Home in Niles. Burial will be in Greenhaven Cemetery.
