Harold E. Freer 1935-2019

CHAMPION — Harold E. Freer, 83, of Champion, passed away early Easter Sunday morning, April 21, 2019, at Trumbull Regional Medical Center.

He was born Oct. 5, 1935, in Warren, a son of Clyde P. and Anna Moeschberger Freer.

Harold was a 1953 graduate of Howland High School, and was employed with General Motors in Lordstown for many years prior to retiring. He was a veteran of the United States Army.

He married the former Bess L. Krieg Sept. 30, 1955. They shared 45 years of marriage and many happy memories together. She preceded him in death Aug. 23, 2000.

Harold was a lifelong member of the Warren First Assembly of God Church. He was an avid sports fan and loved cheering for the Browns, Buckeyes and Indians.

He is survived by two children, Scott (Debbie) Freer of Champion and Kelly (Mike) Dorsten of Beavercreek. He also leaves behind five grandchildren, Alex (Sarah) Freer, Max and Carlie Freer, and Amanda and Kyle Dorsten; and two brothers, Floyd and Raymond Freer, and a sister, Joan Saloff, all of Warren.

Besides his wife, Harold was preceded in death by a brother, Clyde Freer; and three sisters, Florence Phillips, Marian Wilson and Ruth Skinner.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 24, 2019, at the Carl W. Hall Funeral Home, 533 North Park Ave., Warren, with Pastor James Dittmar officiating.

Friends may call one hour prior to services, from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday, at the funeral home.

Harold will be laid to rest next to his beloved wife in the Crown Hill Burial Park, Vienna.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that material contributions be made to the American Red Cross, 661 Mahoning Ave. NW, Warren, Ohio 44483, in his memory.
