Hazel I. Crouse 1925-2018

WARREN — Hazel I. Crouse, 93, of Warren, passed away peacefully at her home in Warren, Friday, Dec. 14, 2018.

The daughter of Curtis and Dora Sapp Stanley, Hazel was born Feb. 18, 1925, in Mecosta County, Michigan.

Hazel married her late husband Robert Crouse March 7, 1943, raised their five children in Indiana and Maine before moving to Albuquerque, New Mexico, more than 50 years ago.

After the passing of her husband Robert in 2015 Hazel moved to Warren to live with her daughter and son-in-law. She cherished family gatherings and was very involved with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and enjoyed these times immensely. During her quiet times she loved to read and crochet.

Memories of Hazel will be carried on by her three children, two daughters, Carol (Greg) Greathouse of Warren, Linda Dyer of Albuquerque; son James Crouse of Albuquerque; daughters-in-law Lupe Crouse and Connie Crouse of Albuquerque; 12 grandchildren, Marion, Michael, Gary, Jared, Zac, Neil, Andrew, Rachel, Jessica, Ryan, Nathan and Stacey; and her 19 great-grandchildren.

Hazel was preceded in death by husband, Robert J. Crouse; sons, David Crouse and Donald Crouse; parents, Curtis and Dora Stanley; brother, Donald Stanley; and sister, Helen Jones.

At Hazel’s request, there will be no funeral services. Cremation has taken place, but the family will honor her life with a small gathering at the Santa Fe National Cemetery in Santa Fe, New Mexico.

The family would like to give a special thanks for the kind and compassionate care that Hospice of the Valley staff gave to Hazel.
