Albert Starcher 1963-2018

FOWLER — Albert “Butch” Starcher, 55, of Fowler, who was transferred from a local hospital to the Cleveland Clinic for specialized care, passed on Saturday, Dec. 15, 2018, surrounded by family and friends.

He was born June 1, 1963, in Warren, the son of Eugene and Amelia Ferry Starcher.

Butch was employed as mechanic and was a natural when it came to working with anything with a motor. He was a sprint car driver, a winning Rookie of the Year at Sharon Speedway and lucky enough to jump the wall as a “jackman” at big races like the Daytona 500. He loved to ride Harleys, four wheelers and anything that had a motor.

Butch loved his friends and family more than anything. He showed love and compassion for all. He enjoyed life and lived a good life.

On Sept. 13, 1985, at the Burghill Baptist Church, Butch married his high school sweetheart, Lisa Finney. Butch and Lisa were blessed to have their “one great love.” As a family man, Butch, Lisa and sons, Brett and Blake, would enjoy many activities including riding their motorcycles, camping, traveling and spending time at the beach. He was an awesome father and an extraordinary man. The couple were the “best parents a boy could ever have.”

Butch enjoyed fishing on “The Conquest” with friends, family and brother, Buddy. He also liked to hunt and shoot pool. He was a member of the Copper Penny Lodge #778 F & AM and the Ali Baba Grotto.

Loving memories of Butch will be carried on by his wife of 38 years, Lisa; his sons, Brett and Blake; his grandson, Brett; his granddaughter, Bailey; his brother, Hayden “Buddy” (Kim); his brother-in-law, Greg (Mary Lou) Finney; his sister-in-law, Janice “Sis” (Bryan) Finney-Adams; his father-in-law, Walter Finney, that he loved to hang out with; his nephews and niece, Gregory (Michelle), Eddie and Beth; his great-nephew, Maddox; his great-niece, Merrick; and his many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Preceding Butch were his parents, Eugene and Emily Starcher; his mother-in-law, Beverly Finney; his nephew, Branden; and his sister-in-law, Tracey.

A memorial service will be 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 21, 2018, at the Fowler Community Church, 4651 Wilson Sharpsville Road, Fowler, Ohio with Pastor Jeff Swogger officiating.
