Marian W. Taylor 1943-2018

CORTLAND — Marian Walker Taylor, 75, of Sodom Hutchings Road, Cortland, departed this life at 5:45 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2018, at Concord Care Nursing Home, following complications of an extended illness.

She was born June 6, 1943, in Isabella, Pa., the daughter of Benjamin and Nancy Binion Walker, residing in the area for 59 years, coming from Allison, Pa.

Ms. Walker was employed with General Electric Ohio Lamp Plant for 35 1/2 years as an inspector before retiring in 2000.

She was a member of Restoration Christian Fellowship Church and enjoyed bowling and bingo. She was a 1961 graduate of Redstone High School in Republic, Pa.

She leaves to mourn one daughter, Mrs. Darla (Dale) Ball of Westerville; three brothers, William (Rose) Walker of New Brunswick, N.J., and Leslie Donald (Jacqueline) Walker Sr. and Joseph E. (Bertha) Walker Sr., both of Warren; one sister, Ms. Coretha A. Jarrett of Warren; four grandchildren; and a host of relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, James Taylor; three brothers, Benjamin Walker, Samuel Walker and John Walker; and three sisters, Ms. Mary Alice Boyd, Ms. Sarah Freeman and Ms. Carrie Walker.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 27, 2018, at the Restoration Christian Fellowship Church. Calling hours will be 10 to 11 a.m., one hour prior to the service. Burial will take place in Meadowbrook Cemetery.

Arrangements of comfort were handled by the Sterling-McCullough Williams Funeral Home.
