Lois J. Chimbidis 1936-2018

NAPLES, Fla. — Lois Ann Jones Chimbidis, 81, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 4, 2018, peacefully, at the Avow Hospice Center of Naples, Fla. She was surrounded each day by her family.

Lois was born in 1936 in Youngstown.

She graduated from Wilson High School in 1954 and graduated from Youngstown University in 1959. She taught junior high in the Warren and Howland schools from 1959 to 1967. She and her husband, Louis E. Chimbidis, owned and operated the Kozy Korner Candies stores in Warren, from 1980 to 1990; then she served as a bookkeeper for Rogers, Wood, Hill in Naples, Fla., from 1993 to 2006.

Lois will always be remembered for her astute intellect, her voracious love of books, and her dedication to family.

Lois was preceded in death by her parents, Evan D. Jones and Alice Cornett Jones of Youngstown.

She is survived by her loving husband, Louis E. Chimbidis; her brother, David C. Jones of Granville; her son and daughter-in-law, Peter E. and Jennifer A. Chimbidis of Columbus; her three beloved grandchildren, Elias “Louie,” Jamey and Nikos; her sisters-in-law, Joanne Chimbidis Hovanic, Maria Chimbidis and Antoinette Doulou Chimbidis; her brother-in-law, Michael Boyazis; her nieces, Helene Chimbidis Guzman, Maria Hovanic Snoddy, Gina Boyazis Parsonis and Amanda Hovanic Klaholz; her nephews, Everett Chimbidis and Spiro Boyazis; and her cousins, Susan Domhoff Hughes and G. William Domhoff.

Per Lois’s wishes, there will be no services or calling hours. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to the cancer research or hospice charity of your choice.
