Janice Shaver 1936-2018
WARREN — Janice Shaver, 82, of Warren, passed away peacefully into eternal life Wednesday, Sept. 5, 2018, at her home, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born March 21, 1936, in McNary, Ariz., the daughter of the late Howard Flanagan Sr. and Vera Warren Flanagan-Watts.
Janice married the love of her life, Leroy Shaver Sr., on April 30, 1960, and they have enjoyed 58 years of marriage together. She graduated from TW Daniel High School in 1956 and attended the AM&N College in Arkansas, receiving her business degree.
Janice had lived in Warren since 1964 and was formerly of Crossett, Ark. She was a wonderful wife and mother.
She was a member of the Eastside Church of Christ in Warren. Janice enjoyed playing bingo, doing crossword puzzles, watching soaps on TV, crocheting and Publishers Clearing House.
Memories of Janice will be carried on by her loving family, her husband Leroy of Warren; her three daughters, Joanna Shaver-Beyah and Shonta Turner, both of Warren, and Michelle Stuckey of Cleveland; her two sons, Leroy Shaver Jr. and Shawn (Lalea) Stroud, all of Warren; 12 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren.
Janice was preceded in death by her parents; four sisters and three brothers.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that all donations go to either the Hospice of the Valley, 5190 Market St., Youngstown, Ohio 44512 or Lake Vista, 303 N. Mecca, state Route 46, Cortland, Ohio 44410, in memory of Janice Shaver.
Calling hours will be 10 a.m. to noon Wednesday, Sept. 12, 2018, at the Restoration Christian Fellowship, 760 Main St., Warren, Ohio 44483.
The funeral services will immediately follow at noon, at the church, where Pastor Joe Walker will be officiating. Janice will be laid to rest in Braceville Cemetery.
