Gary A. Little 1952-2018

MINERAL RIDGE — Gary Allen Little, 66, of Mineral Ridge, died early Wednesday morning, Aug. 29, 2018, at Hospice House of Poland, after a long illness.

Gary was born March 19, 1952, in Youngstown, a son of James and Florence Allen Little and was a lifelong area resident.

He graduated from Austintown Fitch High School in 1970 and had attended Youngstown State University.

Gary was an independent drywall contractor and also worked for Harbison Drywall in Canfield. He was a member of Emmanuel Community Church (formerly Emmanuel Ministries), where he started a recovery group and also shared his testimonials about substance abuse at various churches. Gary was an avid golfer and a lifelong long-distance jogger. He also enjoyed watching college football.

Besides his mother, Florence Little of Cocoa, Fla., he leaves his wife of almost 43 years, the former Randi May, his high school sweetheart, whom he married Sept. 20, 1975.

Gary also leaves a sister, Beverly (Ret. Col. Michael) Lucas of Merritt Island, Fla.; a sister-in-law, Karen Abraham Myers of Hebron; a brother-in-law, Edward (Denise) May of Mineral Ridge; several nieces and nephews, Mark (Stephanie) Lucas, Elizabeth Lucas (Scott) Knightly, Eddie May, Erin May and Katie May; and six great-nieces and great-nephews.

Gary was preceded in death by his father.

A celebration of life will be 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 7, 2018, at Lane Family Funeral Homes, Austintown Chapel, 5797 Mahoning Ave. Friends may call 6 p.m. until the time of the service at 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
