Elizabeth A. Kohler 1920-2018

PHOENIX, Ariz. — Elizabeth A. “Betty” Kohler, 97, of Phoenix, Ariz., formerly of Brookfield, was greeted in Heaven by her beloved husband, Warren, on Saturday, Sept. 1, 2018, while a patient under Hospice Care of Amber Hills, Phoenix, following a period of declining health.

Betty was born Sept. 28, 1920, in Clairton, Pa., a daughter to Arnold and Margaret Eschelbacher Reichart.

A 1938 graduate of Brookfield High School, she married the love of her life, Warren Kohler, on June 19, 1941.

She was a member of the former St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Vienna, now St. Thomas the Apostle Parish. In addition, she was a member of the former ZZO Club, Brookfield.

Betty had worked as an inspector for Elastometric Products, Inc., North Jackson, before she retired.

In her spare time, she enjoyed cheering on the Arizona Diamondbacks baseball team as well as the Arizona State University Sun Devils football team. However, what she enjoyed most of all, was any kind of dessert you could think of.

Her survivors include her son, Kevin P. (Diane) Kohler of Phoenix; her two grandchildren, whom she dearly loved, Amanda (Aaron) Wentworth of St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands, and Gregory (Kristina) Kohler of Phoenix; her great-granddaughter, Kalie Lynn Kohler, whom she enjoyed watching grow up; and her sister, Margaret (Ralph) Scutillo of Warren.

She was preceded in death by her brothers, Arnold, Norman, Frank, Edward and William Reichart.

A time of gathering to honor Betty’s life will be 11 a.m. to noon Friday, Sept. 7, 2018, at her church, St. Thomas the Apostle, 4453 Warren-Sharon Road, Vienna, Ohio 44473, concluding with a prayer service at noon. She will be laid to rest next to her husband in Crown Hill Burial Park, Vienna.
