Anne E. Wortman 1918-2018

NEWTON FALLS — Anne E. Wortman, 100, of Newton Falls, entered into rest Sunday, Sept. 16, 2018, at Windsor House in Champion.

She was born Sept.11, 1918, in Clairton, Pa., the daughter of Thomas and Mary Ribic Benich. Anne grew up from the age of 2 in Newton Falls with her eight siblings and graduated from Newton Falls High School in 1936.

Anne worked at the Trumbull County Courthouse from 1936 to 1949, when she quit to raise her family.

Anne was a devoted member of the Newton Falls Church of God and attended the church nearly every day.

Anne leaves to cherish memories of her, her daughter, Christine Noble; three sons, Walter, Richard and William; a brother, Joseph Benich; 11 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter; daughter, Barbara Scarnecchia; and two sons-in-law, Thomas Scarnecchia and Bryan Noble. Anne was also preceded by three brothers, George, Thomas and James Benich; and four sisters, Mary Jewell, Margaret Davis, Helen Braden and Dorothy Winsor.

There will be private family services. Anne will be laid to rest next to her husband in the Newton Township Cemetery.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Bernard P. Borowski Memorial Home in Newton Falls.
